Playlistferry is a small, open-source hobby project maintained by a single developer.
Summary
Playlistferry stores only the minimum data required to provide playlist syncing functionality (playlist metadata and the tokens required to call provider APIs). Data is not shared with third parties for their own use. Deletions are executed immediately and are irreversible.

Data We Collect
We intentionally collect very little data. Examples:
- Account data: email and/or username when you register.
- Third‑party tokens: OAuth access (and refresh) tokens needed to call provider APIs so we can sync playlists.
- Playlist metadata: playlist titles, track IDs, sync status, counts, small sync logs and failed-track info used to show diffs and sync results.
- Cookies: only for login/session management.
How We Use Data
Data is used only to provide and maintain sync functionality:
- Sync playlist metadata between your connected providers.
- Compute diffs and show which tracks failed to sync.
- Support login, password recovery, and inactivity notification email.
Deletion & Retention
Deletion is immediate and irreversible. This applies to:
- Account deletion: deleting your account permanently removes all data related to it (playlist metadata, tokens, etc).
- Provider unlinking: unlinking a connected provider deletes all related provider data for your account immediately.
- Automated account deletion: Accounts are automatically deleted after 18 months of inactivity, an email is sent to notify you.
Third‑Party APIs & Sharing
Playlistferry uses third‑party APIs (Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud) to provide sync features. When you connect a provider, that provider may see API requests originating from our servers tied to your account.
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or other purposes. We may disclose data only if legally required.
Email & Inactivity
Email is used only for:
- Password recovery (forgot password).
- Inactivity notice after 1 year informing you the account will be deleted.
Accounts will be automatically deleted after 1.5 years (18 months) of inactivity.
Abuse & Termination
Abuse of the system (fraud, spam, scraping, violating provider terms, etc.) may result in account termination and revoked access. Termination for abuse may be immediate, permanent and without notice.
Affiliation
Playlistferry is an independent, open‑source hobby project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Spotify, Apple, SoundCloud, or any other third party.
Changes
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be posted here with an updated effective date.
